Competitive Exclusion Principle states that if there is the competition between two species then the inferior one either get removed or got extinct.
It is also known as Gause's Competitive Exclusion Principle.
It is also known as Gause's Competitive Exclusion Principle.
Gause competitive exclusion principle-
According to the Gause when there is the competition between the closely related species for the same resources then they can not coexist together and the competitively inferior one will be eliminated.
I will tell you two examples which will prove the gause competitive exclusion principle that are Conell's Elegant Field Experiment and the Galapagos Island.
Conell's Elegant Field Experiment-
Conell was a experimental Biologist who have done lots of the experiment one of them we will discuss here.
- Conell's Elegant Field Experiment was done in the Scotland in the Rocky Inter-tidal Area.
- In the Rocky Intertidal area two species of the Barnacles (Crustaceans) - Balanus (Superior) and Chthamalus (Inferior) live together when the resources were unlimited.
- Collen had made the unlimited resources into the limited resources by the making Boundaries in the small so that the food from outside was not available.
- And after few days the Chthamalus which was inferior left the area and Balanus dominated.

Galapagos Island-
Galapagos Island was the natural habitat of the Abingdon Tortoise and the resources for it on the Island was unlimited.
When the Goat (Superior) was introduced to the Island the resources (food) for both become limited as the Goat was Dominant so Abingdon Tortoise has either have to live the place or get extinct.
As Galapagos Island was the natural habitat of Abingdon Tortoise so they doesn't live the Island and got Extinct.
